Glamping fishing holidays on and around the farm
I HAVE A BITE! You may very well hear this cry ring out across the water on your Feather Down glamping holiday, as many of our farms are close to great fishing spots. What could be better than catching your dinner, and taking it back to grill on the wood-fired oven or barbecue?
Get to know the fish
Do you relish a challenge? Try fishing for salmon at Chesters. On this estate next to the luxury Canvas Frills Lodge tents with en-suite bathrooms, you will find a mile-long fishing spot where river salmon can be caught from both sides of the river. This river, the Terviot, is known for its plentiful fish, and owners John and Ellie offer fishing courses through the summer.
Would you prefer to practice your fishing technique? Then you can take fly fishing lessons on your holidays at Upper Shadymoor. When you’ve caught all you can, step into the hot tub directly at lakeside for a soothing soak and relaxed appreciation of views above-water too. If you’re lucky, you may spot a deer emerging from the dusk.
In Somerset, Coach House is another great place to fly fish for brown trout. Children (up to 12) don’t need a license to fish and instruction can be booked for beginners starting on the lawn with a bowl of water…
